St Andrews Road – Huddersfield

Dove Haigh Phillips have been instrumental in bringing together land owners Dresser Industries, GMI Construction and Kirklees College for a new £7.5m engineering centre in Huddersfield. The site will provide learning facilities for students, who are also being given the opportunity to engage in the design and build process of a live construction project.

The new facility will extend to 5,500m2 to be built off St Andrew’s Road in the town, the location provides excellent transport links as well as easy access to local amenities, major key engineering employers and the university.

The finished design of the engineering facility will have many educational features such as technology display rooms showcasing renewable energy monitor boards and metal facade cladding to the exterior walls. The building will be another symbol of the college’s commitment to sustainability as it will achieve BREEMAM rating of excellent.
